Kartar Singh Tanwar, born on December 12, 1962, is an Indian politician who has represented the Chhatarpur constituency in the Delhi Legislative Assembly. He began his political career with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and served as a councillor for the Bhati ward in the Delhi Municipal Corporation starting in 2007. In 2014, he joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and was elected as the MLA for Chhatarpur in both the 2015 and 2020 Delhi Assembly elections. In July 2024, Tanwar returned to the BJP, leading to his disqualification from the Delhi Assembly under the anti-defection law, effective from July 10, 2024. Throughout his career, Tanwar has been involved in various political activities and has held significant positions within the Delhi political landscape.
